Scholastic Art Awards- deadlines approaching

Every year students from around the country participate in the scholastic art and writing awards.  Deadlines vary depending on location, and many are approaching.  For more information, check here.

Exhibition Opportunity at Shippensburg University for Art Teachers

The Kauffman Gallery at Shippensburg University invites submissions from k-12 art educators teaching in Pennsylvania for their upcoming exhibit, Best of the Best.  Each artists may enter three works for jurying.  Entry deadline is December 11, 2013. Details may be found here.

Youth Arts Month

YAM provides a great opportunity to showcase the talents of your students and now is a great time to start to think about what work you might want to submit.  You still have time, however, as entries must be sent in on or before February 14th.  Click here for details.

In addition, here's information about the fast approaching deadline for YAM's flag design contest.  From the designs submitted, each state selects a winning entry which will be made into a 3' x 5' flag that will be flown at the National Art Education Association Conference.  Entry submissions must be post-marked by December 6th.  Information may be found here.

Now that you've found this page, I'd like to welcome you as it is newly created and hopefully will be a helpful resource for you.  The goal of this site is to provide you with information that is useful to you specifically as a secondary level art teacher in Pennsylvania.  Additional content may be added as this page gets under way.  If there's something you'd like to see that is not on the PAEA blog, please let me know.  And while I'm thinking of it, this is a good time to remind you about the PAEA blog, a resource for all things having to do with the Pennsylvania Art Education Association (for all levels) which can be found here.
